a new small group/bible study.
new roommates.
new home.
new job (semi-recently).
new friendships.
new perspective.
new beginnings.
Jesus has used the word and concept, “new” as the theme for my life here lately. and between me seeing unfold before my eyes and at church, i’m amazed at how when God wants you to get a concept, he doesn’t let you forget it for a moment.
these are the verses from this past sunday’s message…
isaiah 43:16-21
“This is what the LORD says—
he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,
who drew out the chariots and horses,
the army and reinforcements together,
and they lay there, never to rise again,
extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
the wild animals honor me,
the jackals and the owls,
because I provide water in the desert
and streams in the wasteland,
to give drink to my people, my chosen,
the people I formed for myself
that they may proclaim my praise.”
and i love the Message version part which says…
“Forget about what’s happened;
don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?”
it’s so convicting. God is ALWAYS doing something new.
and lastly…
(if you haven’t heard this song…google it right now)
hillsong has a song called “you’ll come”.
it’s moving.
anyway…sunday these lyrics struck a chord within me and i haven’t been able to stop thinking about the concept…
“surely as the sun will rise
You’ll come.”
the sun will ALWAYS rise, even if it’s behind the clouds. Jesus is ALWAYS there, even if we don’t see Him.
This is a beautiful post friend :) Love you!
