my heart, my soul, yearns to be in haiti. to offer myself to those people in any way i can.
i long to be there. to give a hug. to wipe a tear. to give a smile. to offer hope.
i can barely stand to watch the footage. it breaks my heart and brings me to tears.
this evening, as i was praying for the people there, it occurred to me how many people all over the world dropped everything in order to help haiti and how so many countries have contributed financially.
there is hope in that.
hope for our world. hope in a God that is way bigger than a 7.0 earthquake.
the beauty in devastation like this, is that it causes a broken world to come together to help a country in need.
This passage has been on my heart all day for Haiti.
“Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” Hosea 6:1-3
