strawberry scones.

i’ll have to admit…scones have always been something i’ve wanted to make, but i don’t really bake a lot…i’m more of a “don’t-measure-just-throw-a-little-of-this-and-that-into-the-pan”. ANYway…besides the fact that i was only really supposed to put 3/4 cup of buttermilk and i put a cup so when i dumped it out to “knead” it i ended up making dough the way my grandmother did (before kitchenaid stand mixers) were invented. so i stood there adding more flour trying to make it somewhat come together…and when it did i thought to myself….”i guess i could’ve processed the butter with the flour more…oh well.”

still i proceeded…they came out tasting good. not “oh-my-goodness-i need-another-one” good which is what i wanted. the good thing about this recipe is that it’s not super sweet, i like that. what i didn’t like was that it still needed a little sugar. and next time i’ll try not using so much buttermilk because all the extra working in of the flour i did…made them more like muffins. really good, buttery, strawberry muffins.  so without ado…here’s what they looked like…
